The New York State Society of Medical Massage Therapists
is a Not-for-Profit organization, whose purpose is the
education and advancement of the Massage Therapy
profession. This organization was incorporated under the
laws of the State of New York in 1927 as the New York
Society of Medical Masseurs, Inc., and was changed in
1986 to the New York State Society of Medical Massage
Therapists, Inc.
About Us:
The American Massage Therapy Association® represents
more than 56,000 massage therapists. AMTA works to
establish massage therapy as integral to the maintenance
of good health and complementary to other therapeutic
processes; to advance the profession through ethics and
standards, continuing education, professional publications,
legislative efforts, public education, and fostering the
development of members.

The objective of the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage is
to provide training in the science of massage with the intent of
graduating exceptionally trained, high-quality massage
therapists. Also, the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage
hopes to enhance the community by increasing the accessibility
to massage services in a variety of settings. The school hopes
to act as an emissary to the community, facilitating the safety
and education of the general public in regards to the benefits of
massage, while maintaining a continuing education program and
resource center for licensed massage therapists. The school
offers both full-time and part-time programs, supported by
modern equipment, beautiful learning environments and a
highly qualified, talented teaching faculty.
New York College of Health Professions, chartered by the New
York State Board of Regents, is one of the leading colleges of
Holistic medicine in the US. The College offers undergraduate
and graduate degree programs in Massage Therapy,
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and a Continuing Education
Certificate program in Holistic Nursing for Rn's. All programs are
registered by the New York State Education Department and the
College has institutional accreditation by the New York State
Board of Regents and the Commissioner of Education, a
nationally recognized accrediting agency. The institution has
been a leader in holistic education for over 25 years.
